Obituary of Waino Nyman

Waino G. Nyman CONNEAUT- Waino Gust Nyman, 93 joined his beloved wife, Betty on Thursday, January 23, 2020. The son of Gust and Ottilia (Raita) Nyman, Waino was born on January 3, 1927 in Conneaut. A graduate of Conneaut High School, he remained a lifelong area. Waino retired from G.E. Base Plant in May 1987 after forty-two years of dedicated service. On April 29, 1950 Betty Auger and Waino were united in marriage. For almost sixty-nine years they grew their family, shared their joys and created a life time of memories. Waino and Betty belonged to the Finnish Lutheran Church of Conneaut, Our Savior Lutheran Church of Southern Pines, NC and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Conneaut. Waino enjoyed golf and bowling. He belonged to the Lion’s Club and the Rotary as well as many other organizations in Conneaut. He was a steady visitor of the Conneaut Moose. He enjoyed being with his friends, sharing stories and enjoying an occasional meal. Waino’s family was his greatest joy. His love for them knew no boundaries. He supported, encouraged, sometimes gently teasing them and was always proud of their many accomplishments. Waino is survived by his children, Wayne(Tina) Nyman of Jefferson, Andrea Kapalin , Daniel Nyman, and John(Sherry) Nyman all of Conneaut; seven loving grandchildren; and precious great-grandchildren; one charming great –great grandson; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty, siblings, Elvi Laslo, Estella Grow, and Linda Laine; and his parents. Memorial Services will be held at 11AM on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 876 Grove Street, Conneaut, Ohio, 44030. Reverend Patrick Van De Motter, Pastor presiding.
