Obituary of Jean Lillian Shank

Jean Lillian Shank ASHTABULA – Jean Lillian Shank, 87, formerly of Pleasantview Drive, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2020 at Country Club Retirement Center. She was born May 16, 1932 in Dorset, the daughter of William and Lillian (Salo) Davidson and was a lifelong Ashtabula resident. A 1950 graduate of Harbor High School, she married the love of her life, Keith Shank on June 6, 1953. A cafeteria worker for the Ashtabula Area City Schools for 21 years before her retirement in 2000, she also worked for Laurie Kister Gifts and Fashion Accessories, various insurance jobs, as the secretary at her church - Saybrook United Methodist, and at various other office jobs. A proud volunteer, she enjoyed reading and donating her time to the Friends of Library at Harbor Topky Memorial Library, and as a Gray Lady at Ashtabula County Medical Center. She and Keith were partners in crime and thick as thieves and were the perfect example of love and support for their children and grandchildren. One of her proudest moments in life was becoming a Grandma! Her survivors include her husband of 66 years, Keith Shank; two children, James (Tammy) Shank of Jefferson and Carrie (Deb Higginbotham) Shank of Westfield, NY; two grandchildren, Chloe and Austin Shank; one sister, Donna Kuivinen of Columbus; nephews, Darrell, Bill, and Tom; three nieces, Debora, Kelly, and Kimberly; and two step-nephews, Tom and Chris. She was preceded in death by one brother, William Davidson; and her parents. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 5-7PM on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at the Ducro Funeral Services and Crematory, 4524 Elm Avenue, Ashtabula. A private family burial will be held Thursday at Saybrook Cemetery with Roger Loomis, Chaplain of Harbor Light Hospice officiating.
