Obituary of Joseph Frederick Pyles, Sr.

Joseph F. Pyles, Sr. ASHTABULA- Joseph “Joe” Frederick Pyles, Sr. 81 was called home to Glory on Sunday, February 16, 2020 with his loving wife, Rosetta holding his hand. The son of Fred D. Perdue and Mary Lena Pyles, Joe was born on September 5, 1938 in Cleveland, Ohio. Joe spent a large part of his life in Indianapolis, Indiana and his sisters still remain in Indiana. Joe married Rosetta Howard on April 2, 1960 and remained married for nearly sixty years until his death. Rosetta and Joe enjoyed being married and raising their family. Joe was a long time employee of Ashtabula Rubber Company; he really enjoyed being a part of the company. Joe liked to watch television, so much so, that he had a television on his front porch. He enjoyed Westerns, especially John Wayne movies. He enjoyed talking to people and keeping in contact with his sisters. Joe is survived by his beloved wife Rosetta Pyles of Ashtabula; children, Terri (Greg) Towner, Steven (Crystal) Pyles, Joseph (Julie) Pyles, Jr., Krista Coltier and Vicky Dowdell; loving grandchildren; several great grandchildren; sisters, Sandra Spearman, Deborah Cobb, Freda Armstrong, and Bonita Perdue;sisters many loving nieces and nephews. Joe was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Sheila Pyles; brothers; Rodney Perdue, Joe Richardson, John Perdue and William ‘Bill” (Betty Jean)Aaron; his father, Fred Perdue; mother Mary Lena Pyles and step father, Arthur “Tex” Edwards. Home Going Services will be at 12 Noon on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Liberty Fellowship Church, 3823 Ann Avenue, Ashtabula, Ohio, 44004. Reverend Harold Nix, Pastor officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens. A calling hour will be observed from 11: AM until time of service at 12 Noon at the church. If desired, contributions may be made to the family.
