Thaddeus Gucik JEFFERSON- Thaddeus Gucik, 98, completed his earthly journey on Thursday, March 5, 2020. Born in Zarki, Poland on February 10, 1922 Thaddeus was the son of Mr. Ladislaus and Angelea (Kosowski) Gucik. After graduating high school in Poland, Thad enlisted in the Polish Army and was captured and endured the hardships of being a POW. Thaddeus immigrated to the United States in the early 1950’s and received his citizenship papers on May 17, 1957. It was such a proud day for him. On October 26, 2002 Thaddeus and Patricia Bobbitt were united in marriage. Although they met late in life, they treated each day of their marriage as the first day they met. Patricia and Thaddeus treasured each day of being together. They enjoyed traveling all over the United States and Europe. They had many adventures that they shared with their family. Thaddeus is survived by his beloved wife Patricia Gucik; children Sigismund Gucik, Thaddeus (Barbara) Gucik, Walter (Kathy) Gucik, Leonard Gucik, Michael(Sue) Gucik, Christopher(Dawn) Gucik, and Lucian (Sue) Gucik; grandchildren, Lucas, Nathaniel, Alysa, Mary Louise, Lauren Ann, Kathryn Lynn, Megan, Max and Kaitlyn; great grandchildren, Raquan, Aribeth, Elena, Landon and Madeline; Patricia’s children; Chris (Sandra) Bobbitt, Jamie(Jerri) Bobbitt, Fred “Chip” (Tammie) Bobbitt, Deb Scott, Margaret Bobbitt, Bonnie Bobbitt; grandchildren, Maggie(Jimmy), Stephanie(Mandi), Robert, Tamara, Sabrina, Mandi, Katie, Adam, Chessica, Chase, Jaimy, Samantha, and Joe; great grandchildren, Shay, Riley, Carly, Taylor, Zoey, Keaton, Olivia, Jackson, Stephen, Joe, Cecelia,Chyanne and Cheyenne. Thaddeus was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his sons, Stella (Kwiek) Gucik; daughters-in-law, Mary Beth (Matsko) Gucik and Karen Gucik; Patricia’s daughter, Kathie Mixer and his parents. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11AM on Wednesday, March 11 2020 at St. Andrew Bobola Church, 3700, S.R. # 193 Kingsville, Ohio. The Reverend John Ettinger will preside. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, North Kingsville, Ohio. Calling hours will be observed from 2PM until 6PM on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at the Ducro Funeral Home, 4524 Elm Avenue, Ashtabula, Ohio, 44004. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 23215 Commerce Park # 300, Beachwood, Ohio 44122.
