Obituary of Mary E. Redmond

Mary Evelyn Redmond, 98, passed away Monday, March 9, 2020 at Riverpoint Nursing Home in Olmsted Falls. She was born January 6, 1922 in Sheakleyville, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late John H. and Lelia (Snider) Redmond. Mary was a United States Army Veteran honorably serving our country during World War II and the Korean Conflict as an Army Nurse. Mary then went on to work for Chesebrough-Ponds Inc. as a registered nurse for 28 years. Mary was a longtime member of the Lake Ave. United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women. She volunteered for many years with the Red Cross and was also a life member of the American Legion. Mary also enjoyed word search and jig saw puzzles. She is survived by her sisters, Twila Vas, Louise Wright, and Betty Ruswinkle; brother, Thomas Redmond; as well as many nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her brothers, Howard, Lawrence, and Ralph Redmond; and her parents. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 15, 2020 at 4PM at the Zaback-Williams-Ducro Funeral Home, 500 W. Prospect Rd., Ashtabula, Ohio 44004. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2PM until the time of service at 4PM.
