ASHTABULA - Lisa Helen Skaruppa, 48, of Ashtabula died Saturday, May 9, 2020. She was born March 3, 1972 in Ashtabula, the daughter of James C. and Nora (Skaruppa) Kirk, and had been an Ashtabula resident most of her life, except for the time she lived in Florida where she was baptized at Myrtle Grove Baptist Church. She attended Harbor High School and was known for being a great cook, with her family favorites being chicken and dumplings, hamburgers, and chicken soup (sometimes with shrimp in it). Her fabulous smile lit up a room and huge heart always put others before herself. She never judged others and you could always be yourself around her. She was always there for her family and friends. Spontaneous and fearless, calm and patient in challenging times, Lisa loved the ocean and being by the beach. An animal lover, she also like Christian rap and contemporary gospel music and liked to listen to it loud! Her deep faith in God led her to reading her Daily Bread devotional regularly. She is survived by 10 children, Christopher Babbitt, Julion Babbitt, Shawn (Candace) Babbitt of Pensacola, FL, and Austin Babbitt, all of Pensacola, FL, Tiara Babbitt of Ashtabula Johnathan, Christian, and Matias Skaruppa, and Mariahna and Jeremiah Sebastian; two grandchildren, Jude Babbitt-Quesada and Isabel Babbitt; her mother and step-father, Nora and Max Telschow of Ashtabula; her grandfather, James C. Kirk, Sr.; two brothers, James Kirk, and Nick Skaruppa, both of Ashtabula; and her uncle, Andy (Denna) Skaruppa of Ashtabula, whom she loved dearly and liked to bring pies to whenever she had the chance. She was preceded in death by her father, James Kirk. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
