Obituary of Caryl Lynn Sheldon

Please share a memory of Caryl to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Caryl Lynn (Dolgosh) Sheldon, 56, graced the world with her beautiful presence on December 28, 1963 in Bucyrus, Ohio to Lora (Harwood) Veres and Alex Dolgosh. She was blessed to call Robert Veres “Dad” and to have the extra love from her stepmother, Carol Dolgosh. On Sunday, June 7, 2020 at her home in Kingsville, Caryl peacefully laid her head down for her eternal rest. Caryl attended Harbor high school and graduated a year early with the 1981 class. There she enjoyed her time as a cheerleader and would dream of being a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader. We didn’t think it could get much worse until she started to root for the Steelers. We loved her anyway, even during football season. Caryl came in to this world with her best friend; her twin sister, Cheryl. They did everything together and it was rare to see one without the other. They especially loved their Walmart-Wednesday shopping trips, their hours-long conversations and their endless laughter. Cheryl left a little early, but we can imagine the fun they will be having in heaven together now. “The twins,” as they were often referred to, had a wonderful sister, Anne (Terry) Starcher. Caryl truly loved her big sister and was greeted by her in heaven alongside Cheryl. At about five or six years old, Caryl was chased relentlessly on the schoolyard by a smitten little boy named Kevin Sheldon. She finally befriended him and that friendship lasted for the next 50 years. Together they had four children, their twin daughters Laura and Renee (Julie) Sheldon, and her beloved sons Kevin Michael and Kyall Sheldon. Caryl was profoundly proud of anything her children accomplished or attempted. She was especially grateful for the grandchildren they gave her. Caryl was “Me-Me” to Kaden, Kaleb, Karter, Ezra, and Luca and she utterly enjoyed every precious moment she got to spend with them. Caryl adored all of her nieces and nephews and was “Aunty” to Amber (Carlos), Andy (Alex), Taylor, Brittany (Jeremy), and Jordan (Katelynn). She also enjoyed the privilege of being a GREAT Aunty to Zach, Marcus, Deshaun, Landon, William, and Wyatt. Caryl had a life-long love of crafts and scrapbooking, and if you were lucky enough, you got one of her drawings, colorings, or projects as a gift on your birthday or Christmas. She loved to make people smile and would put a special touch on each craft she created. Caryl enjoyed the sunshine and serenity of the breeze. You could often find her on the deck just listening to the sounds of nature. She also loved her daytime television shows and is probably still asking, “Who shot J.R.?” Caryl was the bright light in any room. She would always be found with a simple smile and welcoming eyes. She could easily make a new friend anywhere she went, and was always keen on sitting down for a cup of coffee and small talk. Additional family members who welcomed Caryl to heaven include her grandparents Lora and Robert Harwood, Ethel Dolgosh, and Alex J. Dolgosh, her nephew Michael Adang, her brother Steven Dolgosh, her cousin Keith Sinzinger, and her aunt Susan Harwood.
