Betty Mae (Sleeper) Pierce, 90, of Ashtabula, passed away on Friday June 19, 2020 in Zephyrhills, Florida. She was born May 7, 1930 in Ashtabula, the daughter of the late Irvin and Myrtle (Green) Sleeper. Through the years, Betty worked as a cook for Ashtabula Area City Schools. Betty is survived by her husband of 72 years, John Pierce; her children, Sherman (Mary) Pierce of Ashtabula, and Roberta (Dale) Peavey of Boiling Springs, South Carolina; her sisters, Rose Holland of Jefferson, Ohio, Susan Laszlo of Palm Bay, Florida; son-in-law, Ralph Harvey of Berlin Center, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Carol Harvey; her brother, Shurley Sleeper; and her sisters Lucille Meyers, Ida Sleeper and Juanita Rhine. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at 5:30PM at the Ducro Funeral Home, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula, with Rev. Hal Morgan, officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 4PM until the time of service at 5:30. Interment will be held on Monday, June 29, 2020 at 10AM at Greenlawn Memory Gardens in North Kingsville.
