Patti L. Ensell ASHTABULA- Patti Lane Ensell, 69, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 20, 2020 from complications during surgery. The daughter of Kenneth W. and Patricia N. (McClintock) Chapin. Patti was born on June 5, 1951 in Ashtabula. Patti was an educator for the San Diego School District for twenty-two years. She was in love with the thought of educating young children and giving them a foundation on which to learn. Patti and Ron Ensell were united in marriage on August 18, 2013 in Geneva. Their marriage created a blended family filled with love, laughter and encouragement. These memories are now precious treasures of the heart. Patti was a woman of many talents and interests. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed creating many unique gifts using her embroidery machine. Friends and family enjoyed coming to the Ensell home to enjoy food and fellowship. Having been a talented cook, she gifted many others in need of homemade meals. Several months ago, Patti took up gardening and was very excited to see its progress. Patti was selfless; she gave so much of herself, always sharing her time and talents with others. Patti’s best days were spent with her family. She loved being married to Ron. She enjoyed being a mom, grandma and great grandma. Patti will be remembered for her unconditional love, her ability to see joy and laughter in every situation; her unwavering belief that tomorrow would be better. Patti is survived by her husband, Ron Ensell; her children, Mark(Melanie) Krekelberg of Ashtabula, Gregory Krekelberg,Jr. of Chula Vista, CA, and Eric(Julie) Krekelberg of Clinton Township, MI; grandchildren, Tyler Wagner, Savannah Krekelberg, Chloe Krekelberg, Ryan Emery, Victoria Krekelberg, Gavin Krekelberg, Ellison Strubbe, Saige Krekelberg, Copper Krekelberg; Ron’s children whom she loved as her own, Valerie(Terry) Gabor of Madison, Cynthia(Christopher) Berry of Jefferson, GA and Ronald (Jessica) Ensell of Rock Creek; grandchildren, Seth Gabor, Adeline Gabor, Jonathan Warren, Stephen Warren, Hannah Warren, Justin Berry, Elizabeth Ensell, Zachary Gensburg, Elizabeth Hall; two great grandchildren, Avery Contreras and Rowan Contreras; siblings, Russell Chapin of Ashtabula, Sue (John) Edwards of Chula Vista, CA and David (Edie) Chapin of Payson, AZ. Patti was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Janie Fishman and John Chapin. Visitation will be observed from 6PM to 8PM on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at the Zaback-Williams-Ducro Funeral Home, 500 West Prospect Road, Ashtabula, Ohio. Funeral Services will be held at 8PM on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at the Zaback-Williams-Ducro Funeral Home, 500 West Prospect Road, Ashtabula, Ohio. Rev. Doug Winner, Pastor of Jefferson United Methodist Church to officiate. Private burial will be at Ridgeview Cemetery with Rev. Matthew Lynch, Pastor of Lenox Christian Fellowship Church. If desired, contributions in Patti’s name may be made to Lenox Christian Fellowship, 2610 Lenox-New Lyme Road, Jefferson, Ohio, 44047. The family respectfully request that masks be worn and social distancing be observed.
