Obituary of Pearlie Mae Marsh

Please share a memory of Pearlie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Pearlie M. Marsh ASHTABULA- Pearlie Mae Marsh joined the Heavenly hosts on September 13, 2020. Pearlie was born to the late Chris and Sammie Lou Miller in Louisville, Mississippi on May 20, 1938. Pearlie was married on April 25, 1959 to Veora Marsh and faithfully remained married to him for 61 years. Pearlie accepted the Lord at an early age and was a member of New Zion Baptist Church in Louisville, Mississippi. When she moved to Ohio, she became a member of Peoples Missionary Baptist Church. As a member, she was a Senior Member of the Usher Board. She was also a member of the Adult Choir and her favorite songs were “One-by-One,” “Running for Jesus” and “I won’t complain!” Pearlie worked for Mikkelsen’s, Rockwell International, Zehrco-Giancola Plastics, Ashtabula Area City Schools, Precinct Worker, and West Side Bar-B-Q. She also volunteered at G.O. Ministries. People who knew “Pearlie” remember her for being straight forward; whatever she thought, she said, and there was no doubt in what she meant. She contained a witty sense of humor, she remained svelte and elegant—truly a Diva in her own right. She had exquisite taste in clothing and was also known for her chic hairstyles. On any given Sunday Morning she’d step into church with suit, hat and shoes, the epitome of elegance. Pearlie loved her family, church family and her many friends from all walks of life. Her quiet demeanor would sometimes shock the listener when she became outspoken in contrast! Pearlie and Nellie Jones could be seen weekly walking the track on West Avenue to maintain their figures. You can imagine them reunited walking around heaven! Pearlie was a wonderful cook and she loved to entertain family and friends. After everyone went home you could see Pearlie washing dishes and cleaning. You wonder how she did it! There’s nothing like her German Chocolate and Pound Cakes. No one would be disappointed when they finished their meal. One can still hear her saying, “Come on in and get something to eat, we got plenty!” Most importantly, Pearlie always made sure that “V” had a plate. She was a great example of a Virtuous Woman. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 61 years, Veora Marsh; children; Robert Miller of Louisville, Mississippi; Queen Marsh of Ashtabula, Ohio; Deora (Gabriella) Marsh of Ballina, Ireland; Jeannette Marsh of Columbus, Ohio; Grandchildren, Dan (Ameka) Coleman of Starkville, Mississippi; Kimeil (Rebeca) Marsh and I’Eshia Marsh of Columbus, Ohio; Timmy (Keonn) Edwards of Fort Worth, Texas; Tiah Miller of Philadelphia, Mississippi; Lamar, Sebai, and Tyra Marsh of Ballina, Ireland; Great-grandchildren, Jai’Ceon Grandberry; Karmelo Marsh; Reign Pearl Marsh; Jai’Veora Marsh (Ohio); Olivia, Isaiah and Elijah Coleman (Mississippi); Keyonnie, Timarious, Travarious, Teyounna Edwards (Texas); Sister, Emma Jane Kennedy of Louisville, Mississippi; Sisters in Law, Lesmon Lampkin, Little Rock, Arkansas, Essie Keys, Pearland, Texas, Betty (Allen) Herring of Chicotoboge, Mississippi.
