Obituary of Virginia Louise Schilling

Virginia Louise Schilling, 75, of Pierpont, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at the Ashtabula County Medical Center. She was born January 11, 1945 in Richmond, Virginia the daughter of the late Henry Leo and Susan Louise (Klimchak) Kobus. She graduated from St. Michael's Catholic Church in Cleveland Class of 1963. She married the love of her life Roger Schilling on October 2, 1965 Virginia and her husband Roger bought a farmhouse in Pierpont in 1976 to settle and raise their family. She worked for many years at K-Mart as the sporting goods manager. Virginia loved animals and often supported many organizations that support animals. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her children, Roger (Patricia) Schilling, Eva Helscel; Deborah (Eiji) Matsumoto; grandchildren, Jamie (Scott) Estock, Julie (Stefan) Dobriansky, Jonathan and Joseph Prendergast, Heather and Matthew Helscel, and Anna and Elena Matsumoto; and great-grandchildren, Abigail, Evan, Owen, and one on the way. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Roger in 2013; her sister, Barbara Kobus; and her parents. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, October 25, 2020 from 3PM to 5PM at the Zaback-Williams-Ducro Funeral Home, 500 W. Prospect Rd., Ashtabula, Ohio 44004. Graveside services will be held on Monday, October 26, 2020 at 11AM at Oakdale Union Cemetery in Jefferson.
