Obituary of Florence Mae Lockwood

Florence Mae Lockwood, 92, passed from this world to her eternal reward on November 14, 2020 at Jefferson Health Care Center in Jefferson, Ohio where she had been a resident for the past eight years. Florence was born on April 11, 1928 to Vern R. and Lavawn (Bowers) Nelson in Ashatbula, Ohio. Florence attended Ashtabula High School and resided at various locations within the county for most of her life. She married James R. Lockwood on January 23, 1946 and they were blessed with five daughters. Florence is survived by five daughters: Ruth (Ab) Baker of Austinburg, Ohio, June (Robert) Buzzard of Jefferson, Ohio, Patricia (Fred) Miller of Conneaut, Ohio, Pam (Reuben) DiSalvatore of Pierpont, Ohio, and Jo (Marshall) Smith of Jefferson, Ohio; 16 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; 13 great great grandchildren; her sisters, Joann (Norm) Richmond, Geraldine Foltz; and her brother, Rupert (Linda) Stowers. Florence was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James, in 1976; her brother, Vern Nelson, Jr.; her sisters, Ruth Johnson, Jane Collon, Virginia Robinson, and Harriet McClintic; her granddaughter, Jessica Diagle; and her great granddaughter, Mallory Daigle. Florence was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother, a cherished sister, and a friend to all who knew her. Throughout her life, Florence was a talented seamstress and later in life an accomplished quilter. Private services will be held at Ducro Funeral Services, 4524 Elm Avenue, Ashtabula. Ohio.
