Obituary of Dorothy Ellen Schlick

Dorothy Ellen Schlick, 73, passed away Saturday, November 14, 2020 at her home. She was born December 5, 1946 in Ashtabula, the daughter of George E. and Florence E. (Cimorell) Fenner and had been a lifelong area resident. A 1964 graduate of St. John High School, she earned an Associates Degree in Human Services from Lakeland Community College. On January 29, 1968, she married Charles L. Schlick, Sr. and together they shared 52 wonderful years together. Prior to her retirement in 2007, Dorothy served as a case worker for Ashtabula County Department of Job and Family Services for 19 years. A Catholic by faith, she last attended St. Mary’s and St. Francis Cabrini Churches in Conneaut. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, needle-work, cooking/baking, computer games, and spending time with her family and friends. Her survivors include her husband, Charles L. Schlick, Sr.; three children, Charles (Jennifer) L. “Chuck” Schlick, Jr, of Conneaut, Karen Schlick (fiancé Mark Cervone) of Florida, and Patricia Hitchcock of Jefferson; nine grandchildren, Paige, Abbie, and Jon Schlick, Kelsey and Bailey Reising, Caddy and Frankie Cicogna, and Gavin and Lanii Hitchcock; two great-grandchildren, Lauren Schlick and Lily Racy; two sisters, Fran Cantrell of Eastlake and Shirley Lute of Westlake. She was preceded in death by her parents George and Florence (Cimorell) Fenner. Private family services will be held Thursday, November 19, 2020. Rev. Philip Miller, Pastor of Corpus Christie Parish in Conneaut will preside. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery, North Kingsville.
