Obituary of Ronald Coleman Boles

Ashtabula- Ronald Coleman “Winky” Boles, 77, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2021 at the Country Club Retirement Center. He was born on January 25, 1944 in St. Louis, Missouri the son of Sterling Foster and Eula Mae (Figueroa) Boles. Ron served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War prior to his discharge. Upon moving to Ashtabula, he managed Mr. E’s Lounge for his cousin, Ernest Boles for many years. He enjoyed fishing and sports, always cheering for his Cleveland teams and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He liked to cook and especially liked his special way of preparing fish and beans for himself. Winky will always be remembered as a giving person. He provided rides and loaned his car and money to countless people, even when he knew better, just because he wanted to help. He is survived by his children, Abdul Boles, Stephen Boles, and Jason Boles; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Al and David Haynes. He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Betty Jean Boles in 2011; his daughter, Yolanda “Flossie” Hommes; granddaughter, Natasha Boles; and a great-grandson, Dre’Vaughnte Boles, II. Visitation will be held 10-11AM on Saturday, February 20, 2021 with funeral services to follow at 11AM at Ducro Funeral Services, 4524 Elm Ave. Ashtabula. Rev. Steve Sargent will officiate.
