Obituary of Leland L. Truckey

Leland “Lee” Truckey, 77, of Jefferson, Ohio passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at UH Portage Medical Center in Ravenna Ohio. He was born June 18, 1943 In Charlestown, Indiana the son of the late Daniel and Mabel (Blevins) Truckey. Lee honorably served in the United States Marine Corp from 1960-1964 in an artillery unit during Vietnam. Mr. Truckey was a police officer for over 25 years. He worked for the Ashtabula Sheriff’s Office and also served as Chief of Police for Geneva-on-the-Lake in the 80’s. Mr. Truckey was a member of the Ashtabula Pentecostal Church of God, and was also a member of the Masonic Lodge of Ashtabula. He is survived by his daughter, Georgia (Henry) Truckey-Reyes; son, James (Stephanie) Truckey; grandchildren, Michael, David, Leland, Brandon, and Ava.; and great-grandchildren, Chloe, Michael, Cameron, Jayden, Kaidyn, Leland, Jax, and Hazel. Lee was preceded in death by his sisters, Bonnie O’Brien and Shirley Hilt; Brothers, Charles and Tom Truckey; granddaughter, Katieleigh Velazquez; and his parents. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 22, 2021 at 7:00PM at the Ashtabula Pentecostal Church of God, 2221 Cook Rd., Ashtabula with Rev. Kenneth Roberts officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday at 5:00PM until the time of services at 7:00PM.
