Obituary of Connie Hamilton Pelton

Ashtabula-Connie (Hamilton) Pelton, 54, was called to the loving arms to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday, May 14, 2021. She had complications due to congestive heart failure. Born on August 14, 1966 she was the daughter of the late Rev. Ishmel and Zinal (Orsborne) Hamilton. The Hamilton family traveled together to sing in churches and spread the word of God. A love for music, Connie was a talented song writer and had a beautiful singing voice. As a young girl, she taught herself to play the piano just by listening to the music. She would hear a song on the radio and almost immediately walk over to the piano and play and sing the song, always adding her own little bit of “twang” to it. Connie sang and played piano at her father’s church for many years. Her wonderful voice was heard at many weddings and funerals, her music was a window to her heart. She wrote many songs and was also called to minister and speak in churches. Everything she did, she did with such great compassion and love. Connie had a long-lasting marriage to the love of her life. Her family and friends always admired her greatly. Connie loved to spend time with her grandchildren. She would always teach them songs and shared her love for music with them. Connie was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mom, Grammy and aunt; and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Mark Pelton; her daughters, Brittney Pelton (Mike Teter) and Brooke (Jerry) DiBell; her 5 grandchildren Abigail, Avery, Jaidyn, Matthew, and Rachel; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Terry, and sisters Charlotte and Sheila. Funeral Services will be held at 11AM on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at the Pentecostal Church of God, 2221 Cook Road, Ashtabula, Ohio with Rev. Kenneth Roberts officiating. Calling hours will be observed from 4PMto 7PM on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at the Pentecostal Church of God.
