Obituary of Dolores Bean

Dolores Marie Bean (Hassett) passed away into eternal life to return home and be with the Lord and Savior on June 1st, 2021. She was in the presence of her loving family at the time of her passing. Dolores was born in Ashtabula, Ohio on July 8th, 1930, to Thomas and Madonna (Wakeman) Hassett. She attended Harbor High School and was a member of St. Joseph's church. Dolores was a devoted believer in the Lord and was deeply loved by her family. She was extraordinarily giving, kind-hearted and always made her family laugh. She was captivated by butterflies and lighthouses. She enjoyed shopping and traveling and had been many places including her favorite place Hawaii several times, France, Fatima Portugal, and many of the states. She had many friends throughout her life, and always enjoyed telling stories. The past several years Dolores lived in South Carolina with her daughter, and recently returned to Ashtabula due to health issues. Dolores is survived by her children David Bean of South Carolina, William (Kathy) Bean of Saybrook OH, and Carolyn Bean of Florida; granddaughters Jennifer Bean, Kristy Bean and Rebecca Bean; grandsons David Bean, Bob Bean, Thomas Bean, Michael Bean, Bob Massena, Robert Bean, and Christopher Rossetti; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and other friends and family. She was preceded in death by her husband Forrest E. Bean whom she could not wait to see again. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter; son Robert Bean; brothers Joseph Hassett and Kenneth Hassett; sister Helen Hanson; and great-grandson Tyler Grubb. Lost but loved. Gone but not forgotten. Like a ship on the horizon, as we say, "There she goes" others take up the glad shout "Here she comes!" Dolores was laid to rest with her husband at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
