Obituary of Russell Lyn Blevins

ASHTABULA – Russell Lyn Blevins, 62, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2021 at the Cleveland Clinic. He was born September 15, 1958 in Galax, VA, the son of Richard L. and Lulubelle (Sawyers) Blevins and had been an Ashtabula resident most of his life. A graduate of Ashtabula High School, he was a very hard worker his whole life and had many jobs over the years, most recently as an installer at Weather Sealco where he loved his job and co-workers who had been great to him during his illness. On June 10, 1983, he married the love of his life, Karie Lowe at a Baptist Church in Texas. They were both from Ashtabula and their families knew each other but they had to move to Texas to connect. Shortly after getting married, the returned to Ashtabula and shared 38 wonderful years together. Russell loved sports (especially basketball) and old cars. He was a huge Cleveland Browns fan and loved his kids and grandkids with all his heart. He will always be remembered as being there to help anyone in need whenever he could. His survivors include his wife, Karie Blevins; three children, Russell Blevins, Jr. of Willoughby, Christopher (Rachel) Blevins of Dorset, and Ashley (Andrew Dumperth) Blevins of Jefferson; five grandchildren, Natalie, Taylor, Adam, Maggie, and Prestin; two brothers, Richard Blevins of NC and Jeffrey Blevins of Canton; many nieces and nephews; his special cousins, Rick and Carrie who have been there to help in so many ways; special love to Aunt Adeline; and his beloved dog, Max. He was preceded in death by his brother, Mike Blevins, and his parents.
