Obituary of Richard Joseph Mollick

Richard “Rick” Joseph Mollick, 59, of Ashtabula passed away unexpectedly, Monday, September 20, 2021. He was born March 12, 1962, in Ashtabula, Ohio the son of Ronald and Damaris (Treen) Mollick. Rick was a lifelong Ashtabula resident. He graduated from St. John’s High School Class of 1980. He married the love of his life Jeannie Kurleman on August 30, 1986. Rick was a beloved member of the community and could be found biking through the harbor, fishing, playing chess at the coffee shop, and jamming with his band at local venues. His artistic talents enriched the lives of patients, family and friends as a lead singer, guitarist, and wonderful harmonica player. Rick was a skilled handyman, gardener, and home-repair business owner before working for 14 years in the maintenance department at Country Club Retirement Center. Family was always his first priority. Rick coached countless seasons of his daughters’ sports teams. He greatly enjoyed being a grandfather and treasured spreading wisdom and love with his children and grandchildren. His support, humor, and guidance could always be counted on. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 35 years, Jeannie; his parents, Ronald and Damaris (Treen) Mollick; his daughters, Lindsay (Tabor) Bopp, Gabrielle Mollick, Cassidy (John Williams) Mollick and honorary daughter, Gabriella Morehouse; sisters, Deborah (Samuel) Wilson and Cheryl (Kier) Gallite; grandchildren, Emerald, Jade, Jaxson, and Leyla Bopp; niece and nephews, Rachel and Quinton Wilson, and Keagan Gallite. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 26, 2021, from 1:00PM to 4:00 PM with a time to share stories at 3:00PM, at the Ashtabula Elk’s Lodge, 3115 Lake Rd W, Ashtabula, OH 44004 The family asks to share pictures, stories or memories you have of Rick on our website or send to them at gabriellemollick@yahoo.com. Rick’s passing was unexpected. The family is shocked and saddened by this loss ad unfortunately not financially prepared as this was unexpected.
