Obituary of Harold Leland Urch

Harold L. Urch, 82, of Ashtabula, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 3, 2021, in his home surrounded by his family. A lifelong resident of Ashtabula, he born on July 23, 1939, to the late Milton Emery Urch, Sr. and Erdine Nettie (Farquhar) Urch. A 1957 Graduate of Jefferson High School, Harold enlisted in the United States Air Force where he proudly serviced his God and Country for 8 years, four months, and 15 days. Harold worked for WREO/WFUN, Eyjan Electronics and for eight years at Cleveland Electric Company before retiring. His favorite pastime was his computer where he gained the nickname “computer geek” coined by his nephew Ray and his wife, Gail. He loved his family deeply and tried to always be there when they needed him. Harold will be extremely and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Left to cherish his memories is his loving wife of 37 years, Brenda (Gullotti) Urch; his stepson, Tracy Weldy, Jr., whom Harold was so proud of; 5 step grandchildren, Meghan (Justin) Bovee, Greg, Michael, Andrew (Macie) and Mathew Cameron; 4 great grandchildren, Gabriella, Camden, Remi, and Kaylee; his sister, Evelyn Garretti; several nieces and nephews; many great nieces and nephews; and many great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Milton Urch Jr., Ray Urch Sr., Ralph Urch, Roland Urch, Duane Urch Sr., Herman Urch; and his sister, Mary Jane. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Greenlawn Memory Gardens Mausoleum, 3140 E. Center St. North Kingsville, OH, 44068 with Rev. Kenneth Roberts officiating. Military Honors will be presented by American Legion Dewey Howlett Post 103. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Harold’s name to Hospice of Western Reserve, 1166 Lake Avenue, Ashtabula, OH 44004.
