Obituary of Sean Paul Sheldon

ASHTABULA – Sean Sheldon, 50, of Blair Avenue, passed away Sunday, October 17, 2021. He was born September 14, 1971, in Ashtabula, Ohio, the son of David and Renee (Waltari) Sheldon and had been a lifelong Ashtabula resident. A lifelong Ashtabula resident, he graduated from Ashtabula High School, Class of 1990. Sean was an avid Ohio State and Cleveland Browns Fan. He loved people and was a great friend to all. Sean had a great sense of humor and was always the life of the party and knew everyone around. He never met a stranger and was willing to help anyone in need. Survivors include four sons, Garrett (fiancé’ Miranda) Sheldon of Ocala, FL, Dale Sheldon of Beaver Falls, PA, Sean Sheldon, and Matthew Surbella both of Ashtabula; grandchildren, Landon Michael Wade Sheldon, Lanie Marie Sheldon; his fiancé’ Stacy Bennett; the mother of his three oldest children, Jennifer Sheldon; his father and step-mother, David and Carolyn Sheldon; his step-father, Samuel H. Merriman, Jr.; his siblings, Kevin Sheldon of Ashtabula, Tim (Terri) Sheldon of Deltona, FL, Misty Sheldon of Marietta, GA, Kristina (Trent) Gould of Hattiesburg, MS, John Sheldon of Cincinnati, and Daniel and Julianne Sheldon of Ashtabula; many nieces and nephews; and his faithful K-9 companion, Ragnar. He was preceded in death by his mother, Renee S. Merriman on November 25, 2013, and his brother, Andrew David Sheldon. Calling hours will be held on Monday, October 25, 2021, from 5-7PM at the ZABACK-WILLIAMS-DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 500 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula. A time to share memories will be at 7PM. The family would encourage family and friends to wear their favorite Browns or Ohio State gear to show their support to the family and to honor Sean.
