Obituary of James Albert Paris, Sr.

James A. Paris, Sr. ASHTABULA- James Albert Paris, Sr. passed away Thursday, October 21, 2021, at UH Geneva Hospital. The son of Frank and Agnes (Shinault) Paris, Sr., Jim was born in Ashtabula on June 8, 1965, and had remained a lifelong area resident. Jim was employed with Wrights Welding as a welding fabricator and enjoyed his fellow employees. Jim had many interests and hobbies, including collecting coins, knives, swords and dragons. He would travel to auctions and pawn shops looking for that special piece to add to his collection. Fishing and hunting were his outdoor hobbies, many late-night evenings were spent fishing for catfish along the bank of the Ashtabula River. Placing his deer stand in the woods and watching for deer. Jim also enjoyed writing poems in his own unique style. Jim was a family man, he enjoyed being a part of a large family. His encouraged, supported and loved his family. He had an unusual sense of humor that he appreciated more than anyone. He had a big heart and would try to help all those folks he could. Jim is survived by his children, James and Tracy Snyder, Robert and Karina Hamrick, Michael and Brittany Lemponen and James and Jamie Paris, Jr., his loving grandchildren; siblings, Betty McCarthey,Steven Paris, Maryann Standy and Anita Santiago; many loving nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his siblings, Loretta Lyton, Frances Case, Franklin Paris, Jr. James E. Paris, Michael Paris, and Timothy Paris, three siblings in infancy and his parents. Visitation will be held from 5PM until 8PM on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at Ducro Funeral Home, 4524 Elm Avenue, Ashtabula, Ohio,44004. Celebration of Life Services will be announced at a later date by the family. If desired contributions in Jim’s name may be made to the family.
