Obituary of Penny S. Bokar

Penny S. Bokar, 92, of Ashtabula, passed away on Monday, November 15, 2021, in her home surrounded by loved ones. Born March 4, 1929, in Hackers Valley, WV, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Penny (Fisher) Bright. A resident of Willoughby for most of her life, Penny was a 1947 Graduate of Kirtland High School and was a faithful member of Old South Church. For 60 years, Penny was a long time, member, bartender and cook at the Mentor Eagles. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, making jewelry and was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Left to cherish her memories are her sons, Ray P. Kooyman (Linda), and Adrian Kooyman; three grandchildren, Ray (Brittany) Kooyman, Holly Kern and Tim (Rachel) Kooyman; great grandchildren, Nick and Rider Kooyman, Star (Jon) Lange and Heaven Kern; and great-great grandchildren, Silas and Myles Lange, Joshua and Hunter Kooyman; and her dear sister, Geneva Rose. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 43 years, Ronald Bokar in 2017; her siblings, Carolyn, Vera, Arley Bright, and Bud Bright; and her parents. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2021, from 10:00-11:00AM at Greenlawn Memory Gardens Mausoleum, North Kingsville, until the time of the funeral service starting at 11:00AM.
