Obituary of Diane Long

Roaming Shores- Diane Long,74, passed away Thursday, November 18, 2021, at the Lantern of Saybrook. Diane was born on October 15, 1947, in Marie, West Virginia the daughter of Russell and Dorothy (Hudson) Dunbar, moving to Ashtabula as a young child. She graduated from Jefferson High School. Diane was a long-time employee of Ranpak Company in Painesville. She was a member of the Ashtabula First Church of God. Diane loved baking, especially making cinnamon rolls and pies. She also enjoyed the peace that came from watching birds. Diane was loved by many and will be greatly missed by her friends and family. She is survived by her children, Jim (Kathy) Patterson of Leavittsburg, Michael (Tammy) Patterson of Rome and Matthew (Lindsay) Patterson of Tobaccoville, North Carolina; siblings, Dennis Dunbar, Debbie Dunbar, Rhonda Dunbar, Carolyn (Alex) Tapia, Darla (Eduardo Rodriguez) Titus, Gary (Cindy) Dunbar, Nancy (Jorge) Hernandez, and Sandy Davila; grandchildren, Jimmy (Toni), Leah (Adonis), Nadia, Isabella, Angelina, Lola, Gabriella (Curtis), Antonio; great-grandchildren, Eli, Anthony and Leo; long-time companion, Ron Elkins; brother-in-law, Mel Hopkins; father of her children, Terry Patterson; and many nieces and nephews that loved her. Diane was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Russell Ray Dunbar, Linda Hopkins and Donna Bradley; and a dear granddaughter, Amy Sarnelli. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, from 12:00PM until 1:00PM at the Ducro Funeral Home, 4524 Elm Ave., where funeral services will follow at 1:00PM with Pastor Jeff Combs, officiating. Burial will follow at Edgewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Diane may be given to the Hospice of the Western Reserve, 1166 Lake Ave., Ashtabula, Ohio, 44004.
