ORWELL – Melissa Jan Thomas, 59, passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at University Hospitals – Elyria Medical Center. She was born August 11, 1962, in Ashtabula, the daughter of Delbert “Dick” Spencer and Virginia (Farrell) Anderson and had been an Ashtabula resident most of her life. She worked as a bartender and for King Luminaire, but mostly for Circle K on Main Avenue in Ashtabula where she essentially filled the role of assistant manager doing whatever was asked of her. She enjoyed bowling in her younger years and was an excellent pool player, shooting pool in several leagues with her husband. She also loved to listen to Tom Petty. Her survivors include her husband, Albert Thomas, whom she married on June 15, 1991; three daughters, Brandee (David Holmes) Kehres of Austintown, Heather (Carl Hopson) Thomas Hopson of Andover, and Christina Thomas-Brady of Warren, and son-in-law, Jered Brady; one son, Terran Kehres of Columbus; grandchildren, David Holmes Jr., Destinee Holmes, Carl Thomas, Jered Brady II, and Bella Brady; great-grandchildren, Sebastian Brady, and Leland Thomas; one brother, Mark Anderson; Aunt MaryEllen Farrell; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Marvin Anderson in infancy and Richard “Butch” Anderson, Neil Anderson, and Kevin Anderson; her step-father, Buster Anderson who helped raise her; and her parents.
