Obituary of Richard L. Gould
Please share a memory of Richard to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
North Kingsville- Richard L. Gould, 68, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, December 6, 2021.
He was born on January 23, 1953 in Ft. Bragg, North Carolina the son of George E. and Pauline A. (Bolt) Gould. Richard attended Edgewood High School. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force.
Richard was an over the road owner/operator truck driver for over 30 years, operating R & M Transport, and recently retired in June 2021. His CB handle was "Little Abner." He loved to tell OTR truck stories of places he visited. In his younger years, he enjoyed volunteering with the Ashtabula Township, Kingsville and Sheffield Fire Departments. In his younger years, he recalls the canoe trips down the Ashtabula River, with his friend, Ralph Rose, who precedes him in death. Richard loved to be out on his boat fishing and loved spending time with his friends at Northcoast Marina and Campground, which was his "summer jam." Richard was generous of his time, was always willing to lend a hand or give the shirt off his back, never expecting anything in return. He enjoyed his daily trips to Deb's Diner to enjoy a nice meal and conversation with others. Richard was a member of the Ashtabula Elk's Lodge #208. Above all else, he cherished his family and loved his grandkids, dearly.
He is survived by his children, Missy (Ryan) Coy of North Kingsville and Richard E. Gould of Wickliffe; grandchildren, Caitlyn (Roberto) Castillo of Jacksonville, FL, David (Ava Kister) Falke, II, Mason Coy, Madison Coy all of North Kingsville and Gabriel Gould of Wickliffe; sister, Ruth Simmons of Ashtabula; his nieces and nephews, Julie Simmons of Ashtabula, Gregg (Audra Kirkwood) Simmons of Jefferson and Randy Simmons of Ashtabula; and many great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Robert Gould in infancy.
