Obituary of Robert Michael Nagel

Robert M. Nagel NEW MATAMORAS – Robert Michael Nagel, 65, formerly of Ashtabula died Monday, December 20, 2021 at his home. He was born March 9, 1956 in Bay City, MI, the son of William Robert and Joanne Lois (Sample) Nagel and had been an Ashtabula resident for over 30 years before moving to New Matamoras, OH recently. A graduate of Painesville Harvey High School, he worked as a machinist for Victor Browning in Willoughby prior to his retirement. A Christian by faith, he enjoyed fishing, playing chess, working on cars, and caring for his fellow man. He lived by the motto "Be nice to each other." His survivors include his son, William "Will" Robert Nagel (fiance’ Julie Naskali and her daughter Jilian Fox) of Ashtabula; five grandchildren, Destiny, Autumn, Alexis, Kaitlynn, and Caleb; four great-grandchildren; his former wife and mother of his son, Anita L. (Cox) Nagel; his sister-in-law, Candace Nagel of CA; and his beloved cat, Peepee. He was preceded in death by his brother Guy Nagel; and his parents. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held in his memory on Saturday, January 8, 2021 from 1-3PM at the American Legion Dewey Howlett #103, 1804 Carpenter Road, Ashtabula.
