Obituary of Anatole "Tony" Tulajew

Anatole “Tony” Tulajew, 77, of Jefferson, passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at Geneva Hospital. Born on July 5, 1944, in Hamburg, Germany in a WWII refugee camp, he was a son of the late Sam and Maria (Belozerkovsky) Tulajew. A graduate of Jefferson High School, Tony joined the United States Army and served his country before being honorably discharged in 1965. He worked for Ashtabula County and worked as a brick layer for several years. A family man, Tony was a loving father and loyal grandpa, brother, and uncle. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Left to cherish his memories are his children, Tina (Mike) Thacker of South Carolina, Tiffani (Chris) Hawkins of Ravenna, and Toni (Mike) Spahr of Jefferson; his sisters, Nina (Herman) Urbank of Columbus and Anna (Rick) Birsa of Delta; his grandchildren, Michael and Jacob Thacker, Breanna, Brook, and Britney Hawkins; Kaitlyn Snively, Sam and Cloey Spahr; and his nieces, Alexis Johnson, and Christina Churchill. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam, and Maria Tulajew; his niece, Natasha Urbank; and his granddaughter, Tiffani Snively. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021, from 4PM to 6PM at Zaback-Williams-Ducro Funeral Home, 500 W. Prospect Rd, Ashtabula. Per his wishes, there will be no formal funeral service held. He will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville, at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in Tony’s name to Jefferson Emergency Rescue, 11 S. Market St, Jefferson, OH 44047.
