Obituary of Lois Hutchinson

Lois “Joanne” Hutchinson, 81, of Geneva went to be with the Lord on December 31, 2021 following a sudden illness. She was born on July 30, 1940, in Hamburg, Iowa to John and Margaret (Dossey) Caylor. Joanne married LeRoy Hutchinson on August 17, 1957. Married 64 years, together they raised 3 children. After traveling to many United States Air Force bases, they settled in Geneva in 1977. She worked 40 years for the Department of Job and Family Services in Columbus, then Lake County. Joanne was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Michelle “Shelly” Winters on September 18, 2021; and sister, Sue Hastings. She is survived by husband, LeRoy; daughter, Kathy Manley of Columbus; son, Richard (Amy) Hutchinson of Geneva; grandchildren, Heidi (Michael) Austin, Brandon Hutchinson, Mick Manley, Alexa Hutchinson, and Kara Hutchinson; great-grandchildren, Alyson and Jacob Shoemaker; siblings, Alberta Petruskevich, Marjorie Harris, and Daniel Delgado; several nieces and nephews; and her devoted dog, Gomer. Her family was the most important thing in her life. Her grandbabies and great-grandbabies were her pride and joy. She was the most selfless, caring, loving person. Joanne always tried to find the best in people no matter what their circumstances. She volunteered with Homesafe and was known for always helping people and loving all animals. Everyone would remember her drinking a bottle of Dr. Pepper. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, from 5-7 PM at Ducro Funeral Services and Crematory, 4524 Elm Avenue, Ashtabula.
