Obituary of Elaine Marie Sundman

– Elaine Marie Sundman, 82, was called to the arms of her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, while living with her daughter Kim. Elaine was the daughter of Vern and Mary (Fink) Housel, she was born on March 26, 1939, in Denmark Township. Elaine remained a South County area resident until moving with her daughter Kim and husband, Dan for the last several years. Where she was able to be with her beloved family. Elaine and William Sundman were married on February 1, 1981, and together the celebrated eighteen years of marriage before his passing on April 2, 1999. Their marriage though, short was filled with love and mutual respect. Elaine was a long-time member of Pierpont Presbyterian Church, where she held many positions; she was a Sunday School Teacher, member of the funeral committee and many other groups. Elaine loved her church and when ever called upon she would help in any way she could. A licensed cosmetologist, Elaine was also a Certified Respiratory Therapist working a Brown Memorial Hospital for twenty-five years prior to retiring. Her personality and genuine concern for others showed in her work and daily life. Never one to pass up an opportunity to enjoy herself, Elaine was a pitcher for her slow pitch softball league, enjoyed camping and bicycling as well as horseback riding with her husband, Bill. Elaine is survived by her daughter, Kimberly (Dan) Blair; grandchildren, Tim Million, James Million, Heather (Tim) Gaebelein, Holly Blair, Hilary(Jeffrey) Offak and Nathan Blair; great grandchildren, Evan, Braeden, Emma, Alaina, Noah, Grayson, Hayley and Beau; siblings, Shirley (Chuck) Snyder and Patricia Doerr; loving nieces and nephews. Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, William” Billy” Sundman; sons, Timothy Million and Kevin Million who died in infancy, siblings, Lloyd Housel, Joyce Harrison, and Patricia Doerr and her parents. Funeral Services will be held 12PM on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at the Pierpont Presbyterian Church, 71, State Route 7 North, Pierpont, Ohio. Visitation from 10- 12PM on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at the church. Burial will take place at a later date.
