Obituary of Blair F. Glink

Blair Franklin Glink passed into the Lord's presence Sunday afternoon January 23, 2022, after a brief hospitalization. He was 94.
Blair was born on July 23, 1927, to Paul and Dora Glink in Ashtabula Township, Ohio. His parents passed away while he was a young child. He was then raised by Mary and John Glink, his father's brother and sister. After completing 10th grade at Tarentum High School in Tarentum, Pennsylvania, Blair left to Join the army at the end of WWII. After his honorable discharge, he moved to Ashtabula where he worked as a carpet mechanic. Later, he became one of the first 10 hires at General Tire's new vinyl plant on Middle Road in Ashtabula Township. He worked his way up to head Foreman.
Blair walked closely with the Lord Jesus Christ assuming various leadership positions at the old First English Lutheran Church (later Faith Lutheran). At his death, Blair was a faithful member of Jefferson Nazarene Church where he greatly enjoyed participating in the JOY (Just Older Youth) Sunday School class.
Blair rose early everyday to read his bible and pray for his family and friends. His faith was the most important thing in his life.
On September 16, 1950, Blair Married Joan Cox of Geneva, Ohio. Blair and Joan had two sons, Ronald of Ashtabula and Richard of Belle Center Ohio. Joan went home to be with the Lord in 1981.
Blair reconnected with Beverly Nan Walker while she was working at the Ashtabula County Home taking care of Mary Glink who had raised him. They were later married on June 3, 1983.
In 1992, Blair retired but kept busy as the patriarch of a loving family and with wood working, travel and his beloved crossword puzzles.
Blair was predeceased by his parents, wife Joan, brother Pastor Gordon Glink, daughter Karen Hjerpe, son William "Billy" Walker, and granddaughter Katie Glink. He is survived by wife Beverly, sons Ronald (Bonnie), Richard (Valerie), and daughter Beth Walker of Madison, Ohio, grandchildren Don (Kelly), Jon (Emily), Ron (Sarah), Kristen, Nate, Mike Kaiser (Cathy), as well as numerous great grandchildren, nephews, and nieces.
A celebration of Life will be held at Jefferson Nazarene Church on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at 1:00 PM at the Jefferson Church of the Nazarene, 55 E. Jefferson St., Jefferson, Ohio 4404. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Jefferson Nazarene church youth group, 55 E. Jefferson St., Jefferson, Ohio 44047.
