Hargis Hall, Sr., 72, of Ashtabula passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 11, 2022, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center. He was born February 9, 1950, the son of the late Charlie and Mabel (Childress) Hall. Hargis worked as a union industrial painter for many years. Hargis was a former member of the Eagles Club and the Army-Navy Union. Mr. Hall enjoyed playing bluegrass music on the banjo and guitar; gun collecting, fishing and racoon, squirrel and rabbit hunting. He enjoyed taking morning rides and taking in natures beauty. Hargis always enjoyed gardening and then canning the delicious fruits and vegetables he grew. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, family, and friends. Hargis is survived by his children, Hargis A. Hall and Maria Hall all of Ashtabula; brothers, Leon (Zettie) Hall, and Ted Hall; grandchildren, Nicholas Casteel, Johnathan Pierce and Franklin Pierce; loving nieces and nephews and many friends. Mr. Hall was preceded in death by his wife and caretaker, Edna Hall on October 4, 2021; sister, Peggy Lee Hall; niece, Amanda Hall Knox; nephew, Jimmy Cole; and his parents. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at 12PM at Ducro Funeral Services and Crematory, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula, Ohio 44004. Burial will follow at Kelloggsville Cemetery in Monroe Twp. Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 11AM until the time of service at 12PM.
