Obituary of Drew "Herbie" Osborne

Drew "Herbie" Osborne, a proud veteran of the US Army Green Beret Special Forces, passed away Feb 22, 2022. The son of the late Palmer and Dora Lou Collins Osborne, he was born June 25, 1954 in Paintsville, Kentucky. He grew up in Ashtabula Ohio where he graduated from Harbor High School. After High School, Drew "Herbie" Osborne enlisted in the US Army. He valued this service highly and served as a Green Beret in special forces and received National Defense Service Medal, Parachute Badge and M-16 Sharpshooter Badge. After being honorably discharged from the military duty, he went on to study criminal Justice at Kent State University. Later he worked as a Correctional Officer, Sergeant, and Lieutenant during his tenure at the Kentucky Department of Corrections in Lagrange KY. He also continued his life with a heart to volunteer and served at a community level for Corrections Emergency Response Team. Drew "Herbie" Osborne is survived by his son, Andrew "Andy" Palmer Osborne of Lexington, Ky,and two siblings; Linda Osborne Nelson of Ashtabula, Ohio and Lori (Winson) Slone of Blue River, Ky. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Dewey Howell and Palmer Eugene Osborne and three sister; Martha Osborne, Bernice Hall and Brenda Osborne.
