Obituary of Patricia Lee Borzaga

Patricia Lee Borzaga, 80 of Ashtabula passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, while a patient at ACMC. On October 17, 1960, she married the love of her life, Raymond Borzaga who passed in 2007. Forty-seven years of mutual respect and love as Raymond’s life partner became her cherished memories after his passing. Born July 1, 1941, in Ashtabula, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Lois (Elliott) Gormley. A native to Ashtabula, Patricia graduated Ashtabula High School in 1959. Patricia worked as a manufacturer at Premix, Inc. in Conneaut, OH for 27 years before retiring in 2002. Ashtabula always being home, Patricia spent 12 years in Savannah, Georgia. A love for traveling, Patricia explored Canada and took spontaneous trips with her mother to Boston and San Francisco. She belonged to a local bowling league and the Ashtabula Rod & Gun Club where she practiced black powder skeet shooting. During the holidays, Patricia enjoyed working at a local Christmas store to help spread the holiday cheer. Patty’s constant companion after Raymond passed was her dog, Gunther. Sadly, he has crossed the Rainbow Bridge and has greeted her as she went home. Left to cherish her memories are her two daughters, Sandra Borzaga and Jennifer Leigh (Jason) Thomas; her four siblings, Debra Plankel, Valerie White, Paul and Douglas Gormley; as well as her four grandsons, Joe Watson, Joshua Borzaga, Zachary and Seth Thomas. In addition to her husband, Raymond, who passed on November 27, 2007, and her parents, Patricia is preceded in death by her son, Raymond P. Borzaga and her daughter, Judith Borzaga. At the convenience of the family, Patricia will be laid to rest next to her husband at Beaufort National Cemetery in South Carolina.
