Obituary of Chasper Trotter

Chas Trotter, 73, of Ashtabula peacefully passed away, Saturday, 26 February 2022, at Carington Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born 6 March 1948 to the late Chasper and Samantha (nee Taylor) Trotter. The lifelong Ashtabula resident, Mr. Trotter graduated from Ashtabula High School; attended Kent State University as a Biological Science Major; and later in life, became a nursing student at Kent State University Extension. Mr. Trotter never married. Mr. Trotter worked for Union Carbide for many years prior to its trans inion into Elkem Metals. He likened himself as a "Mr. Fixit" though his skillset did not always equate that which he had read, but he was ready to avail himself to the effort. A rare intellect, Mr. Trotter, believed that knowledge was power therefore he was a voracious reader and book collector. He loved the Star Trek genre, its tenets and philosophies, as well as the belief in the significance of the impact of space exploration. When his health permitted, he produced bountiful vegetables in beautiful, raised beds. This loyal and faithful friend was also an avid collector of owl figurines. Mr. Trotter is survived by his sisters: Anita (Mykal) El-Amin of Phoenix, AZ and Marqueeta (Joe) Miller of Dallas, GA; brother, D'Metre Trotter of Ashtabula; and niece Aishah Rashid of Phoenix, AZ and many cousins. He is preceded in death by parents Chasper, Sr. and Samantha Trotter. Chas, you will be forever missed. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, 11 March, 2022, at 1PM at Ducro Funeral Home, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula. Burial will Follow at Ridgeview Cemetery.
