Obituary of Ila Joan Hoover

Ila Joan Hoover, 88, of Pierpont passed away peacefully, Saturday, February 26, 2022, at Jefferson Health Care. She was born April 14, 1933, in Cleveland, Ohio the daughter of the late Lester and Claudine (Barr) Frazier. Joan graduated from Riverside High School and went on to receive an associated degree. She married the love of her life Milan Hoover in Cleveland on October 17, 1959. For many years Joan worked in the Accounts payable department for Ashtabula County. Joan was an active member of the Pierpont Presbyterian church where over the years she served in many capacities within the church including serving as a Deacon. Joan was a creative crafter and enjoyed sewing. She will always be remembered for the delicious baked goods she would make for various events. She was a dedicated wife and mother and most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. Mrs. Hoover is survived by her daughters, Sandi (Richard) LaMantain of California and Sherrie Wilson of Jefferson; grandchildren, Lindsay, Chad, Luana, Lacey, Lenise, Shawn, Jessica, and Courtney; great-grandchildren, Angelica, Mikey, Eric, Tony, Issas, Isaiah, Yoni, Lauren, Jadia, Bruece, Shawn, LeShawn, Destiny, Andrew, Jordan, Adam, and Shantel; great-great-grandchildren, Freyia and Isaac. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Milan on November 3, 2021; beloved son, Kevin Hoover; and her parents. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at 11AM at the Pierpont Presbyterian Church, 71 OH-7, Pierpont, OH 44082. Inurnment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Pierpont.
