Thomas M. von Philp, 81 passed away Sunday, March 6, 2022. The son of Bertle and LaVina (Thomas) von Philp was born on October 9, 1940 in Rochester, PA. Tom spent his whole life in the Steel Industry up until his retirement from his own company, Speciality Strip and Oscillating. Tom was a member of Trumbull Country Club where he enjoyed playing golf and even got a hole in one on that course. He also enjoyed traveling and wintering in Florida at his condo which he shared with his family. Tom also enjoyed fishing, being an avid Steelers Fan but especially spending time with his family. Tom is preceded in death by his parents. He married Mary (Lewis) von Philp and they had two children which he is survived by; his son Adam (Krissy) von Philp, daughter Emily (Jeff) Compan. He is also survived by his sister Rhoda (Carl) Krueger, his grandchildren: McCamey, Rylan, Cooper and Tucker Compan, Zoë Orr,and step grandchildren Jack and Bobbi Burrows, his nieces Kris (Dan) Krueger-O’Brien and Kim (Marc) Borschneck. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 18, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Andover United Methodist Church, 181 South Main Street, Andover, Ohio with Pastor Jason Hockran officiating. Memorial Contributions may be made to: Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Avenue Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
