Pauline E. Meaney ORLANDO, FL – Pauline Emma Meaney, 85 formerly of Ashtabula passed away at Westminster Towers on Tuesday, March 8, 2022. Pauline was the daughter of Clement and Margaret (Seme) Meaney she was born on April 2, 1936, in Ashtabula, graduating from Ashtabula High School in June of 1954 and was a longtime resident until moving to Florida in 2005. Pauline was employed with the Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company for thirty-six years retiring in 1993. While in Florida, Pauline worked for Walt Disney World, retiring in 2013. Pauline was a member of our St, Joseph Church, Our Lady of Peace Parrish as well as a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church of Orlando, Florida. She was a volunteer at the National Basilica of Mary Queen of the Universe Shrine in Orlando. Pauline played the Button Accordion with the Fairport Polkateers Band for six years and later played with the Magic Buttons Band for ten years, based out of Cleveland, Ohio. Pauline participated in the Band’s three professional recordings. Also, the band members hosted two Caribbean Cruises, and Pauline traveled to Fontana, California every Memorial Day weekend for the Button Accordion Contest. Pauline was a Lifetime Bronze Member of the National Cleveland Polka Hall of Fame. She was also a member of the Central Florida Accordion Club and lifetime member of the VFW #943 Ladies Auxiliary of Ashtabula. Pauline is survived by her sister, Patricia (Meaney) Salvato of Orlando; brother, William and Jane(Gnau)Meaney of Louisville, Ohio; nieces, Janet (Salvato)and Ted Dombroski of Guilford, CT, Barbara Meaney also of Louisville, Ohio and JoAnn Meaney of Canton, Ohio; nephews, Patrick and Robin (Parson) Salvato also of Orlando, Fl,, Brian and Kristin(Ruhl) Salvato of Springfield, VA; several great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive. Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Clement (Seme) Meaney, and a niece, Sheila Salvato. Mass of Christian Burial will be observed at 11AM Saturday, July 16, 2022, at St. Joseph Church Our Lady of Peace Parish, 3312 Lake Avenue, Ashtabula Ohio. Rev. Raymond Thomas presiding. Inurnment at St. Joseph Cemetery. A calling hour will be observed from 10AM until time of service at 11AM at the church.
