Obituary of Michael Lewis Teter

Pierpont- Michael Lewis Teter, 66, passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2022, surrounded by his family. The son of Burley Lewis and Jennie L. (Varner) Teter, Mike was born on September 7, 1955, in Elkins, WV. Mike and his beloved wife, Cheryl shared 46 years of dedication to each other in which they created treasured memories that will remain in everyone’s heart. As a community member of Pierpont since 1990, Mike owned and operated DOC Transportation, LLC. Following in his father’s footsteps, for over 4 decades Big Mike enjoyed life on the road. To him, trucking was a lifestyle-- never a job. When he wasn’t trucking down the highway, Mike loved to ride his motorcycle with family and friends. He looked forward to his Sundays at home with his family and dogs, Buddy and Penny. One of Mike’s greatest accomplishments was continuing his family tradition of Truckin’ and building his family business with his children. Mike will be remembered as a hardworking & dedicated husband, father, and grandpa. He was a loyal friend, a man of his word, and will be deeply missed by many. Left to cherish his memories is his wife, Cheryl A. Teter of Pierpont; his children, Riki L. Hall, Jami M. Teter, and Mikal B. Teter, all of Pierpont; his grandchildren, Miranda, Travis, Rachel, Kaitlyn, Brandon, and Matthew; his brother, Johnie W. Teter. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Deborah M. Teter. Calling hours will be held from 12PM to 2PM on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Child Williams Ducro Funeral Home, 1071 State Rt. 7, Pierpont, immediately followed by the funeral service starting at 2PM.
