Obituary of Nancy M. Izzi

Nancy M. Izzi, 88, passed away on Monday, March 28, 2022, at Geneva Center of Rehab and Nursing. Born October 21, 1933, in Passaic, NJ, Nancy was a daughter of the late Mario and Teresa Smeriglio. She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony C. Izzi. At the time of his passing in 2005, they had been married for 54 years. A lifelong member of St. Joseph Church, Nancy was involved in many aspects of the church. Committed and devoted to the veterans and the disabled, Anthony and Nancy where members of the local chapter of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. Strong in her faith, Nancy was a devoted caregiver, wife, mother, and grandmother. She treasured the time spent with her family. Left to cherish her memories are her three children; Tony Izzi of Ashtabula, William “Bill” Izzi of Colorado, and Karen Gallagher of New Philadelphia, OH; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two brothers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony C. Izzi, and her parents. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11AM on Friday, April 1, 2022, at St. Joseph Church, 3330 Lake Ave., Ashtabula. Rev. Raymond Thomas will preside. Entombment will be held in Greenlawn Memory Gardens Mausoleum, North Kingsville. Calling hours will be held from 10-11AM on Friday, April 1, 2022, at St. Joseph Church, 3330 Lake Ave., Ashtabula. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Nancy’s name may be made to the Hospice of the Western Reserve, 1166 Lake Ave., Ashtabula, OH 44004 or St. Joseph Church.
