Miguel A. Guzman
Geneva - Miguel Angel Guzman, 54, passed away unexpectedly on Friday April 1, 2022.
The son of Juan Guzman and Maria Monterrubio, Miguel was born on May 16, 1967, in Guerrero, Mexico. Miguel immigrated to the United States in 1988 and became a citizen on February 8, 2008. He was immensely proud of his heritage and was equally proud to be a citizen of the United States.
Miguel was an incredibly determined person. As a child he was born with medical issues, and he never let them determine the path he took. His last place of employment was Plastpro, Miguel took pride in his work and was well liked by his coworkers.
Miguel was a sports enthusiast, he enjoyed basketball and soccer. He supported “Las Chivas Rayadas de Guadalajara” soccer team and was definitely one of their biggest fans. Seldom missing a broadcast of their matches. Miguel encouraged his nieces and nephews to start the sport of soccer and many of them have. When he was able, Miguel would attend their games giving encouragement and advise. A good day was filled with music, food, family and friends. Miguel was very fond of social media and had many friends and acquaintances. Miguel was a shoulder to lean on he would listen to you and give advice, he accepted you at face value never one to make judgements.
Miguel never gave up, he continued to live life to the best of his ability, never making excuses, he had incredible determination. He will be remembered as a good son, brother and uncle. Family and friends were everything to him.
Miguel is survived, by his mother Maria Monterrubio; siblings, Francisco “ Pancho”(Gloria) Monterrubio of Ashtabula, Evaristo(Yari) Guzman of Erie, Pa, Erika (Hector) Picasso, whom he considered as a brother also of Ashtabula and Mirella Guzman of Houston, Texas; nieces and nephews, Bianca, Gabriela, Lili, Selena, Cristobal, Emmanuel, Crystal, Mitzi, Ariana, Alex, Erik, Sharaim, AB, Noemi, Isaias; great nieces and nephews, Frankie, Juan Daniel, Sebastian, Josseline, Camilo, Zailyn, Miraly, Eliel, Camila, Emiliano, Lissi, Jovani, Aaliyah and Matteo.
Miguel was preceded in death by his father, Juan Guzman.
Funeral Services will be held at 12PM on Thursday, April 7, 2022, at the Ducro Funeral Home, 4524 Elm Avenue, Ashtabula, Ohio. Hector Picasso, Pastor of Iglesia Pentecostes “Arrepentios Y Convertios.” Burial in Ridgeview Cemetery, Ashtabula, Ohio.
