Obituary of Donald Bruce Crate

Donald Bruce Crate, age 52, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2022. Born March 22, 1970, in Conneaut, he was a son of the late Donald E. and Mariann (Schaffer) Crate. Sweethearts since 1985, Bruce married the love of his life, Sherry Hughart, on March 23, 1998. Since Sherry was 13 years old, together they had shared 37 years of love, devotion, and many cherished memories throughout the years. Bruce was an avid sports fanatic, favoring the Chicago Bulls and Michigan University. He enjoyed the outdoors, riding four wheelers, dirt bikes and working in his garage with his grandchildren. A huge history buff, Bruce could tell you just about any fact related to world history. Most of all, Bruce treasured the time he spent with Sherry, his children, and grandchildren. Left to cherish his memories is his beloved wife of 24 years, Sherry Crate; son, Jeremy (Victoria) Crate; daughters, Kayla (Jordan Pacholke) Crate, and Taylor Crate; grandchildren, Jaetyn, Kaden, Wyatt, and Luca Crate; sister, Becky Crate. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald, and Mariann Crate; brother, David Crate; mother-in-law, Donna Hughart A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
