Obituary of Timothy S. Ward

Timothy “Tim”, “Timmy”, “Too Tall”, “Spider Arms” Ward, age 56, of Jefferson, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 24, 2022, at Hamot Medical Center, after battling cancer. Born August 24, 1965, in Ashtabula, he was a son of the late Kenneth T. Ward Jr. and Marlene J. (Wormley) Ward. A resident of Jefferson for most of his life, Tim was a1983 Graduate of Jefferson Area High School. After graduation, Tim proudly served his country in the US Army before being honorably discharged in 1985. For several years, Tim was a dedicated member of the Jefferson United Methodist Church where he learned his love of music. For 21 years, Tim worked at Eltech/ DeNora Tech LLC before starting his own landscaping business, “Tims Place, LLC”, in 2018. In his spare time, Tim enjoyed woodworking, playing corn hole, frisbee, guitar, dancing, and bonfires. He also loved yardwork and helping others in their yards. One could also find Tim shooting pool with his friends and riding his motorcycle. Left to cherish his memories is his beloved wife of 22 years, Darlene Ward; three children, Amanda (Bruce) Hammond of Dorset, Linda (Sean) Stone of Columbus, Josh Bates of Columbus; a true brother and best friend, John Wick; six siblings, William Ward (Frank Melbourne) of Columbus, Robin (Jack) Kleven of Dayton Beach, FL, Jeff Ward (Robert Gribling) of Howland, Ed (Zachary) Ward of Georgia, Robert (Tracey) Ward of New Philadelphia, Kim (Sarah) Ward of Massachusetts; Goddaughter, Liz Wick; Uncle Don & Aunt Betty Ward of Coldwater; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws. Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth T. Ward, Jr., and Marlene Ward; paternal grandparents, Kenneth T. Ward Sr, and Emma K. Ward; maternal grandparents, Carl Wormley, and Florence V. Wormley. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 29, 2022, at 11AM at Jefferson United Methodist Church, 125 East Jefferson Street, Jefferson, Ohio 44047. Inurnment with military honors will be held at Oakdale Union Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM.
