Obituary of Caroline Colucci Asmus

Caroline C. Asmus ASHTABULA- Caroline Colucci Asmus, 97, passed away Monday, April 25, 2022, with her husband at her side. One of ten children and the last surviving family member of Adolpho and Mary Margaret(Landolfi) Colucci, Caroline was born on August 18, 1924, in Ashtabula, Ohio. Although she lived in several places, Ashtabula was always home. Caroline was a supervisor with Sears and Roebuck for thirty years, she was a dependable and conscientious employee. Remaining in contact with her fellow employees after her retirement. Caroline and her husband were united in marriage on August 27, 1955, for nearly sixty-seven years they were each other’s best friend. The memories created during their marriage journey are now treasures of the heart. Caroline attended Messiah Lutheran Church with her husband and her family. She also belonged to the Airborne Angelettes for many years, a group of women whose husbands were in the Airborne Infantry. Caroline enjoyed being with family and being kept abreast of all their news. Caroline is survived by her cherished husband, H. W. Asmus of Ashtabula; beloved daughter and husband, Ann Mary (Scott) Jaskela of Greenwood IN; grandsons, Michael (Meghan) Jaskela and Matthew Jaskela; two great grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Gail Colucci; many loving nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews. Caroline was preceded in death by her parents, Adolpho, and Mary Margaret Colucci; siblings and their spouses, Angelina Colucci, Dominic (Anna Marie) Colucci, Alfred (Elfriede) Colucci, Adolph (Margaret) Colucci, Genevieve Welker, Margaret (Arthur) Rapose, Harry Colucci, Ernest Colucci, and Judith ( (Albert) Metlika. Funeral Services will be held at 12 noon Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at Greenlawn Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel, 3140 East Center Street, North Kingsville, Ohio, 44030. Rev John Ettinger to preside. Burial at Greenlawn Memory Gardens. A calling hour will be observed from 11AM-12noon Tuesday, May 3,2022 at the Mausoleum Chapel.
