Ashtabula Twp.- Wendy Lynn Baker, 42, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Monday, May 23, 2022 after a short illness.
She was born on April 6, 1980 in Ashtabula the daughter of Loree Drda and Randy Baker. Wendy graduated from Ashtabula Lakeside High School Class of 1999 and went on to receive her associate degree from Providence Baptist College in Elgin, Illinois. After college she resided in Illinois and later in the Akron area before recently returning home to Ashtabula. Wendy was previously a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church, and currently enjoyed attending Community Baptist Church, with her sisters in Akron, where she enjoyed being a part of the Ladies Group and helping in the church nursery. She was most recently employed with Axcess Point, where she was a receptionist and also enjoyed working as a secretary when living in Illinois at Providence Baptist College.
She loved her family and enjoyed watching her nieces and nephews play their sports. Wendy enjoyed getting together with friends and family and playing pinochle and watching the Ohio State Buckeyes football games. She considered her friends, her sisters and their children, nieces and nephews, and they all meant the world to her.
Wendy is survived by her mother, Loree Leslie; sisters, Jennifer (Joshua) Fillinger, Shelly (Terry) Fisher; brother, Randy Baker; grandmother, Katherine Drda; step-father, Keith Leslie; uncles, Mark (Emma) Drda and Craig Drda; and her nieces and nephews, Julie and Erik Coy, Steven Fillinger, Alexia and Brandon Fisher. She is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews from the Baker family.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Gerard Drda and Evelyn and Elza Baker.
Calling hours will be held Friday, May 27, 2022 from 5PM-7PM at the Zaback-Williams-Ducro Funeral Home, 500 Prospect Rd., Ashtabula, where a service will follow at 7:00PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to the family.
