Obituary of Robert O. Benedict

Robert Benedict, 85, of Jefferson passed away peacefully Friday, June 10, 2022, in his home surrounded by loved ones. Born July 6, 1936, in Cleveland, he was a son of the late Earl and Mildred (Burgon) Benedict. A lifetime residence of Ashtabula County, Robert enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served our country until being honorably discharged in 1960. Robert married Joyce Sprinkle and together they had shared almost 50 years of love and commitment. Strong in his faith, he was a dedicated member of Ashtabula Church of God. Before retiring in 2022, Robert worked very hard over the years at King Luminaire to help support and provide for his family. A sport fanatic, he enjoyed watching Cleveland sports. Above all, Robert enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Mr. Benedict is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Benedict; children, Christine Church, Brenda Urch, Christine Neff, Michael Benedict, Bobby Benedict, Douglas Benedict; six grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; brother, Richard Benedict. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Benedict; sister, Donna Price; and his parents. Graveside service with military honors will be held at 1PM on Friday, June 17, 2022 at Greenlawn Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel, North Kingsville. Rev. Kenneth Roberts will be officiating.
