Carl C. Whitlock, Jr ASHTABULA- Carl C. Whitlock, Jr., 79 was reunited with his beloved wife Betty on Saturday, July 9, 2022. Carl is the son of Carl C. and Thelma(Proctor)Whitlock, Sr. , he was born on July 24, 1942, in Colburn, West Virginia. Carl relocated to the Ashtabula area as a young man seeking work. Carl and Betty were united in marriage June 2, 1962, and were married for forty-nine years prior to her death on January 20th , 2012. Carl missed Betty and all the wonderful times they had; he is now home with her. Carl worked at True Temper and retired from Pickens’s Plastics after many years of devoted service. Carl was a person with a great work ethic and took great pride in being able to support his family through the many years of dedicated hard work. Although Carl and Betty did many things as a couple; Carl enjoyed fishing in the river behind the hospital, being outdoors and the peacefulness of the day. There was nothing like a good game of horseshoes and the constant chatter about who had more skills at placing a ringer. A wonderful gardener, Carl tried his hand at growing grapes, and having had good success he shared with many. He also raised vegetables and shared them with his neighbors and family. A good day for Carl was a cold Genesee beer after hard work, a large portion of shrimp and being with his family. Carl is survived by his children, Kenneth (Rachael) Whitlock, Bruce(Jackie) Whitlock, Patricia Stasny and Carl (Christine) Whitlock, III; Grandchildren, Jacqueline, Kyle, TJ, Jarred, Dustin, Amanda Jo, Cory, Dylan and Sarah Paige; his aunt Nellie; many loving great grandchildren; and loving friends. Carl was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty; grandson, Joshua Fleckenstein; sons, Tony Whitlock and Roy Gene King; son-in-law, Jeff Stasny; great granddaughter Serenity Whitlock; and his parents. The family would like to thank the staff of Country Club Retirement Center for the loving care shown to Carl and the friendships created during his stay.
