Obituary of Molly Jo Mixer

Saybrook Twp.- Molly Jo Minick Mixer, 82, passed away Friday, July 15, 2022, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center, after a brief illness. She was born on March 24, 1940, in Ashtabula, Ohio the daughter of Paul A. and Mildred R. (Hills) Minick. A lifelong resident, Molly attended Ashtabula Schools growing up. She was a familiar face for over 30 years at Lakeway Restaurant where she was a waitress and in later years was the hostess, greeting customers and making them feel welcomed. Molly was a long-time member of TOPS. She enjoyed traveling with her late husband, Pat, and enjoyed trips to Florida, Canada and the fun times at Ponderosa Park. Molly loved the outdoors, watching birds, shooing away squirrels and tending to her tomato plants. She was an avid reader and enjoyed quiet times with a good book. Her family will miss those wonderful apple pies she baked. Molly will be dearly missed by her family, including her children, Chris (Shira) Mixer, Dennis (Dora) O'Brien and David (Dottie) O'Brien; her dear sister, Marlyn (Thomas) Parker, that said Molly was the greatest gift her parents gave her; brothers, Ronald Minick and Bart (Grace) Minick; grandchildren, Christopher Mixer, Jr., Justin (Lindsey) Mixer, Megan (Michael) Harvey, Stephanie (Tammy Luther) Sheesley, Maggie (Jimmy) Tackett, Michelle (Tiras) Chatman, Dawn (Kevin Kettlewood) Benson, Cindy (Randy Leszek) Peggs and Kiffany (Santo Sanabria) Gayheart; many loved great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Cathy Mixer and Pam Mixer; and her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband of 30 years, Pat Mixer; sons, Scott and Duane Mixer; daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and David Martling; and sister-in-law, Darla Minick Calling hours will be held Monday, July 18, 2022, from 6PM-8PM at Zaback-Ducro-Williams Funeral Home, 500 W. Prospect St., Ashtabula, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at 11:00AM, with Pastor Aaron Drews, officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
