Please share a memory of Deborah to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Deborah "Deb" Ruth Armington-Ranowiecki, 62, of Austinburg, passed away at home surrounded by family on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, after facing a devastating battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born on April 20, 1960, in Ashtabula, Ohio—the daughter of the late George Armington, Jr. and Joanne (Finney) Armington Hadlock. Debby attended Geneva High School but graduated from Grand River Academy. She was employed at Ayrshire for almost 20 years before leaving to follow her dreams of goat farming. In Kentucky, on August 7, 2011, she married the love of her life, Ralph Ranowiecki. Deb was a long-time member of the Jefferson County Longrifles club and belonged to many other organizations, including the Grand River Trail Riders, the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association, and the American Dairy Goat Association. As a child, she was heavily involved in 4-H, and as an adult, she enjoyed participating in ADGA-sanctioned goat shows. Debby enjoyed hunting, target shooting, and snowmobiling. She also took great pride in the legacy of her grandfather's company, Euclid Road Machinery. Deb was a lifelong avid reader (and paid lots of late fines to the library), a beautiful writer of letters and cards, a true animal lover, and a collector of many things. She was profoundly opinionated and found herself writing many letters to the editor. Although Deb had many interests, her biggest passion was her creation—Grand River Goat Farm. Over the last nine years, she turned her ambitions into a business, raising and caring for her award-winning goats like they were her family. She is survived by her loving husband, Ralph; her children, Douglas Eric (Jennifer) Armington, Georgene Helen (Dean) Williams, Lee Joanne (Michael) Ensman, and David Richard Armington Moore; her beloved grandchildren, Destiny, Tyler, Hayden, Victoria, Parker, and Jack; her siblings, Bob (Diane) Armington, George (Jeannine) Armington, Harold (Heather) Armington, and Charles Armington; her dogs, Rabbit and Echo; and her abundant tribe of goats. Deb was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. She will be sorely missed by so many people. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Mechanicsville Cemetery, near 3930 Lampson Road in Geneva. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (pancan.org) Ducro Funeral Services, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula is handling arrangements.
