Elizabeth M. "Betty" Crislip ASHTABULA - Elizabeth Marie "Betty" Crislip passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at the Ashtabula County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, joining her beloved husband, Gerald, whom she deeply missed. The daughter of John and Marie (Pavlik) Gedeon, she was born on April 11, 1928 in Cleveland. At a young age, she and her family moved to Ashtabula County where she graduated from Edgewood High School. A member of Our Lady of Peace Parish, Betty and her family were very active at Mother of Sorrows Church, where Jerry was a regular usher at Saturday night mass. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters and enjoyed the many friendships that she made. As a poll worker for Saybrook Township for many years, Betty did not mind the long hours on election day. She saw many old friends as she worked the polls and was proud to perform her civic duty. Betty won many first-place ribbons for her crocheted afghans that she entered in the Ashtabula County Fair and her children and grandchildren will be comforted by the afghans that she crocheted for them over the years. She will be remembered for her faith, love of family, ready smile, sweet disposition, and cheerful heart for giving. Survivors include her children, Dennis Allan Crislip of Cleveland, Kathy (Greg) Gochneaur of Jefferson, Michael (Kathy) Crislip of Mentor, and Robert Gerald Crislip of Ashtabula; six grandchildren, Lacey (Dan) Sprang, James Gochneaur, and Carly, Michaila, Jessica Crislip, and Cassandra (John) Long; and great-grandchildren, Quinn Marie Sprang, Willow Sprang, Olivia Crislip, and Lindsiann Long. Plus a long list of nieces, nephews and cousins that affectionately knew her as "Aunt Betty".
